Thank you for your interest in helping launch VITA sites in our area! Our most urgent need is to recruit volunteers to file returns. Do not be afraid! You do not have to have any previous finance or tax experience. You will be filling out an online tax form and will receive all the training you need to comfortably complete the return. Our goal is to have two preparers (plus the site manager) at each location. You do not have to volunteer every week. You can decide how often you want to volunteer during the tax season. We will be open February 1 through April 11. See site schedule below.

Training takes place in Lexington over a two-day period. Times and dates are listed below. December training dates are filling up quickly. If you can participate, please go ahead and complete the registration form that is attached and fax back to the CKEEP folks. They are providing our training. We can certainly arrange to carpool if you like. I am attending training on January 5th and 12th.

Our goal is to complete 50 returns per site over the tax season. If we average the same tax refund they achieved in Fayette County last year, we could easily return more than $200K back to families in our area.
