Although the school year is underway, the two elementary schools that Southland partners with through Circles of Influence still need more volunteers! Consider impacting the lives of students, teachers and staff with the love of Christ.

There are multiple ways to serve. See some of the opportunities below and contact the team leader if you're interested!

• Volunteering in a classroom at Warner Elementary (Nicholasville) - Serve once a week for about an hour during the school day. Assist students with classwork, work one-on-one with students, or assist teachers with administrative tasks. The serving opportunities vary based on the teachers' needs and your interest! • Mentoring a student at Tates Creek Elementary (Lexington) - Serve once a week for about 45 minutes to an hour during the school day. Build an encouraging relationship with a student, play games, or just talk. Contact Matt at mlayow@gmail.com or Matt at matthew.krupp@gmail.com to get involved.


• Tutoring a student at Tates Creek Elementary (Lexington) - Serve once a week for about 45 minutes to an hour during the school day. Work one-on-one with a student on specific academic skills such as reading or math. Play educational games or read books. Contact Mark at mjcinc@insightbb.com to get involved.


• Encourage teachers and staff at both schools (meets at Southland) - Meet once a month on Saturday mornings as an Encouragement Team to prepare cards and gifts for the teachers and staff at our two partner schools. Contact Julie at tajbc@aol.com to get involved.


• Help with the backpack food program for both schools (meets at Southland) - Our main need for this team is weekly food donations! You can drop off food in the bins outside the Worship Center every weekend or during the week in Building M. Volunteers serve on every-other-week teams on Wednesday evenings.
