This is a Southland Certified Ad Volunteer with our school partnerships this year!

We are kicking off our school partnerships again August 1st, and need volunteers with a heart to serve in the community! Southland has partnered with 2 local elementary schools to serve children, staff and families in Lexington and Nicholasville. Will you consider serving on one of the teams below this school year?

Tates Creek Elementary Mentoring - Build a relationship with a student and serve as a positive role model. Meet one-on-one with a student during the week at the school, with opportunities to build relationships with the child and family outside of the school day.

• Orientation & Training Meeting for new and returning mentors: Thursday, August 20th from 6:30 - 7:30pm in Building E, Room 109A.

Tates Creek Elementary Tutoring - Assist a student with math, reading or science skills to help them improve grades and self-esteem. Meet one-on-one with a student during the week at the school.

• Orientation & Training Meeting for new and returning tutors: Thursday, August 27th from 7:00 - 8:30pm in Building E, Room 109 A &B.

Warner Elementary Volunteers - Help students and teachers in classrooms by building relationships and serving as needed. Based on need & your interest, may assist with administrative tasks, work with individual students or groups on schoolwork, or participate in other activities.

• Orientation & Training meeting: Tuesday, September 1st from 7:00 - 9:00pm, Building A, Room 242A (Multipurpose Room).

Teacher & Staff Encouragement Team - Participate in monthly projects to bless & encourage teachers and staff at Warner and Tates Creek Elementary Schools.

• September meeting: Saturday, September 12th from 10:00 - 11:30am, Building B, Room 133 (lower level of Building B)

Food program - Assist with sorting food donations & packing backpacks, or delivering & picking up backpacks each week to Warner & Tates Creek Elementary Schools.

• Orientation & Training meeting for new and returning volunteers (attend one): Wednesday, August 12th from 7:00 - 8:00pm, Building M (at the back of our property) or Wednesday, August 19th from 7:00 - 8:00pm, Building M.
