This is a Southland Certified Ad Room in the Inn

As part of Circles of Influence, Southland partners with a local ministry known as Room in the Inn to provide hospitality & shelter to homeless men during the winter months.

We provide housing on Southland's campus once a week to approximately 12-15 guests between the months of November and March. In addition to a warm place to sleep, we provide showers, two meals, a bagged lunch, and transportation to and from downtown.

Volunteer recruitment for Room in the Inn takes place in the fall for the entire season. We schedule a set number of volunteers to various tasks each week, including:

• overnight hosts


• team captains


• laundry (sheets & towels)


• meal preparation (dinner, breakfast & bagged lunches)


• CDL bus drivers


• serving & socializing volunteers


• house setup (making beds, setting up tables, etc.)


• house cleaning (vaccuuming, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, etc.)
